Introduces literary texts in an ESL context. Develops students’ linguistic skills through reading, interpretation, and analysis of literary texts from different genres and creative media. Students learn to identify literary elements and narrative devices such as character, plot, setting, point of view, figurative language to examine literary content from historical and cultural perspectives. Students improve their reading, oral, and writing skills through journals, summaries, commentaries, essays, and discussions.
