The Development Office at Hostos Community College, part of the City University of New York, is responsible for all philanthropic fundraising activities. This includes securing leadership gifts, major gifts, planned gifts, charitable gift annuities (CGAs), and support from corporations and foundations, as well as managing annual giving. The office also organizes various donor cultivation, stewardship, and fundraising events, such as the annual Golf Outing and Scholarship Benefit. Additionally, it helps connect students with external individuals and organizations to enhance their experiences through employment and internship opportunities.
Using various means of communication, it raises community awareness of the ways in which philanthropic support inspires student achievement and furthers the educational mission of the College. Through a variety of scholarship offerings, student support initiatives, and community service programs, philanthropic gifts (outright and deferred) enable Hostos to remain accessible and affordable, providing quality educational and extracurricular opportunities for students of all backgrounds and means.
To encourage, accept, invest, and manage such gifts, the Hostos Community College Foundation was established as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit. To make a gift, please visit the Make a Gift page at Hostos Community College (thankyou4caring.org) or contact Idelsa Méndez, the Development Manager, at imendez@hostos.cuny.edu. If you have any questions, feel free to call 718-518-4341. Your generosity helps Hostos thrive as a vital anchor institution in the South Bronx and empowers the next generation of leaders.
