Admissions and Recruitment Information
Overview
The Hostos Community College Office of Admissions and Recruitment encourages prospective students to meet with an admissions advisor regarding their higher educational goals. The advisor will help students examine their objectives and review admissions requirements, policies, and procedures.
How to Apply
The Application Process
All applicants must complete the appropriate City University of New York online application and provide the required documents, as specified below. Failure to file the correct application will delay admission processing and may subject students to disciplinary action by the university.
The priority application deadline for Fall is February 1, and Spring is September 15. Be sure to read the instructions carefully and submit all necessary documentation. We recommend visiting the https://www.cuny.edu/admissions/undergraduate/apply website for updated details on the freshman and transfer application process. International students can meet with an Admissions Advisor and file their online application. However, they must mail their application fee (if they did not pay by debit/credit card), official transcripts, and translations (when applicable) directly to the University Application Processing Center (UAPC).
All Transcripts and associated documents must be translated. For more information, please review the university Translation Guidelines at https://www.cuny.edu/admissions/undergraduate/apply/#translations.
Secondary School Transcripts
You will need to submit a copy of your complete academic record (all years), as well as any national or government certificates earned. Secondary School documents can be uploaded onto your CUNY application, or in certain cases (e.g., WAEC) where we require additional information, they can be sent to admissions@cuny.edu. Please review the list of Required Secondary School Credentials for more information.
Official University Transcripts
If you’ve attended university, you’ll need to request an official transcript from each university to be considered for admission. Please review the Official transcript section before submitting documents. Have them send transcripts directly to transcripts@cuny.edu.
Please note that all materials and documents (including original documents) submitted as part of an admission application become the property of CUNY/UAPC and cannot be returned.
