Students will analyze major works of 20th century American fiction, identifying their themes, styles, and structural components. A variety of male and female novelists will be studied in relation to their cultural milieu. Students will write short papers and complete one research project using print and on-line resources. By the end of the semester, students will have broadened their perspective of American literature and culture as seen through the works studied. (HONORS)
