Description

Deepens ESL students’ understanding of contemporary issues from an interdisciplinary point of view. Students study issues presented in a variety of media and apply information literacy skills to recognize and distinguish reliable news sources and different points of view. Students learn relevant vocabulary and phrases frequently used in public and social media and critically apply their new and prior knowledge in summaries, journals, essays, discussions, and presentations.
